The Joan Booker Ward was in itself nice, clean and comfortable. The food was good although I would suggest taking some additional snacks. All the staff were very friendly.
I gave birth in September and it was incredibly busy on the ward. I had a bed in Special Care as the main ward was full. This meant that to get attention from a midwife I either had to go and find someone (generally impossible as they were all helping other patients) or ring for someone from Special Care to go and find someone, who didn't always come. I had problems with breastfeeding and due to the lack of support/ availability of midwives I was no further on three days later when I discharged myself. Sadly no one had the time to really help me which I felt was wrong and left me very stressed at what should have been a happy time.
Patient seating area uncomfortable for sitting for long periods of time. Magazines would help to distract the waiting time & difuse any rising frustration. Apart from the above. The staff are caring & very helpful and should be commended.
I arrived at the hospital at 7pm and it took over an hour to see an assessment nurse. Its now three hours on and I am still waiting to be seen. A patient before me has left as she has given up on the wait.
Good care when seen, explaining things clearly. But long waits between seeing doctor and getting antibiotics prescribed meant 1.5hr wait to go home after treatment.
My dads treatment was good, just needed to wait long time.
The care was lovely we were happy
Everyone was extremely helpful and kind. Very speedy attention to my problem.
A super efficient set up. Very very professional.
Caring and calm environment. Only needed to be seen in minors. Reassured & eye appt made for following day. I didn't mind waiting to be seen. Thank you x Doctor & nurse very nice
